"SPREAD YOUR WINGS" DAYS - 2018
Thursdays, June 7th through Oct. 11th*
9 AM - 2 PM
$10 per adult and 1 child, $5 for each additional child, infants free. Maximum $20/family.
During "Spread Your Wings" days we open our Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom for discovery time and unstructured play. Make use of our Arbor Day-certified play areas . . . build a fort in the Leaf Litter Messy Area, create a nature craft at the Indian Paintbrush Nature Art Area, water vegetables or look for worms in the Peter Rabbit Garden, or build a Fairy House in our Fairy Village. We let the kids take the lead by doing what interests them the most -- we'll provide a safe and nurturing environment. Children of all ages, as young as infants, will enjoy their experience here. You can bring a snack or pack a picnic lunch. Dress for the weather and wear sunscreen/bug spray as needed.
Reservations are not required but we would love to know if you are coming. Use the contact form below. We will not open if we have severe weather, and we can notify you if you reserve.
*We'll be closed on July 5th, Aug. 9th, and Sep. 6th.

“One Small Place in a Tree”
TALE TRAIL OPENING WEEKEND
June 23, Saturday 9-3
June 24, Sunday 1-4
Join us for the opening of our 2nd Tale Trail of the season with the beautifully illustrated book, “One Small Place in a Tree.” It's a story about the different insects and animals that make their home in a tree. Follow the page-signs, reading as you walk along our woodland trails. Watch for wildlife in trees and around logs as you go. The book pages will lead you to our Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom for fun, hands-on activities to learn more about animals who live in trees and logs.
Admission on opening weekend is $10 per adult and 1 child, $5 for each additional child, infants free. Maximum $20/family.
This Tale Trail runs through Thursday, August 16th
The current story "In a Nutshell" will be open through Thursday June 21st.
Visitors can walk our Tale Trails any day of the week between 9-6 PM and admission is by donation (suggested: $5-$10 per family.) Please stop at the Farm Stand porch first for instructions and donations can be left in the box mounted on the wall.
We will have additional Tale Trails throughout the season, allowing our visitors to read new stories, walk on different trails, and see new things as they change seasonally here at Petals in the Pines. Each Tale Trail will have it's own kick-off weekend with special activities in the pavilion. Here is what we have planned for 2018:
“On One Flower” Aug. 18 & 19th Opening Weekend, runs through Thursday, October 11th.
“Leaf Man” Oct. 13 & 14th Opening Weekend, runs through Sunday, November 18th.
