In 2013 we added this 20' x 20' pavilion to provide a shelter for our art center and birthday party celebrations. Families gather here for cake and ice cream after exploring and playing on the grounds. There are also several activity stations in the pavilion. We change things up all the time, based on the seasons, so you never know what you'll find here. Each experience at Petals in the Pines is interesting and unique!
We are a Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom (one of only 7 in NH), certified by Arbor Day Foundation and Dimensions Educational Research Foundation. At Petals in the Pines children of all ages, from infants and toddlers to teens, will be able to experience nature in a safe and nurturing environment. Natural "activity centers" are open for children to build, create, move, sing, play make-believe, experiment, learn and enjoy. By connecting children with nature, this type of unstructured play and activity helps increase concentration, develop creativity and problem-solving, and relieve stress. (Not just for the kids, but for the parents who visit too!) In 2015 the editors of NH Magazine selected Petals in the Pines as the Best Outdoor Classroom!
We invite you to participate in one of our workshops or "Spread Your Wings" days, host a birthday party, schedule a field trip, or attend one of our special events. Homeschool groups, clubs and groups of families are welcome. Please check back to our Events page as we will frequently update that through the season with workshops and events. Thursdays, June 6th through Sep. 26th*

During "Spread Your Wings" days we open our Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom for discovery time and unstructured play. We let the kids take the lead by doing what interests them the most -- we'll provide a safe and nurturing environment. Children of all ages, as young as infants, will enjoy their experience here. You can bring a snack or pack a picnic lunch. Dress for the weather and wear sunscreen/bug spray as needed.
Reservations are not required but we would love to know if you are coming. Use the contact form below. We will not open if we have severe weather, and we can notify you if you reserve.
